Preston Baptism, March 2014

Preston was baptized this month!  We enjoyed being at the ceremony and seeing how excited Preston was.  There was a lovely lunch afterwards.  Unfortunately, Chris/Lisa and family as well as Mike/Andrea couldn't make it, but everyone else was there.  

After the baptism, Brandon, Sarah Grace and Brian came over to fly kites.  We had a lot of fun flying kites and eating pizza. 

March 2014 Trip to Little Wildhorse Canyon

We went on a fun trip to Little Wildhorse Canyon by Goblin Valley State Park.  We left Monday morning and stopped at the City Creek shopping center.  Sandy bought two skirts and blouses at Macy’s for the summer and we looked at the Al Rounds Gallery.  We then stopped at my old friend Jack Green’s house for a visit.  He is in bad shape and is on Hospice.  We then drove to Green River where we stayed at the River Terrace Motel.  This was a lovely motel. 

The next morning we hiked Little Wildhorse Canyon and then Bells Canyon.  They were both stunningly beautiful.  

Ice Fishing at Hyrum Reservoir, January 2014

Hi All,

We had a wonderful ice fishing trip.  Me, Nate, Spencer, Preston, Brian, Jaimee, Brandon, Kaelynn, Matt and my Dad went up to Logan and fished at Hyrum Reservoir.  Friday night we drove up and stayed at a Super Eight.  We ate at Hu Hots  and played games in the pool.  My Dad told the kids about some childhood experiences which they all enjoyed. 

The next day we went to the Reservoir.  It took a while, but we started catching fish.  Spencer caught the most fish and Jaimee Joy caught a Rainbow trout.  All in all, everyone had a great time.

Family Dinner 12 Jan 2013

Hi All, 

Most of the Family came over for dinner on Sunday and there were funny stories of Grandchildren.  

*Brandon does not like Kindergarten because he was “embarrassed” because he was “almost left by his class” when the class went somewhere.

*Preston was hammering something and Spencer told him to “hit it harder like you’re going to beat the crap out of it, not like you’re going to hit you’re sister”.

*Lauryn told me that “we could have a sleepover and sleep in the downstairs.  In the morning, Grandma could wake us up and give us breakfast”.

Christmas 2013

Hi All, 

We had a lovely Christmas.  All children and grandchildren plus grandparents Dick and Joy; Burt and Betty were at the house on Christmas Day.  We had a lovely roast beef dinner and other treats.  The grandchildren all had fun playing with each other and the adults talked and joked.  We also played a fun game with everyone in the living room called Werewolf. 

Chris and Lisa and family stayed with us until the Tuesday Dec 31; Mike and Andrea and family stayed with us until Sunday Dec 29. 

The day after Christmas we had a birthday party for Dick.  We had a soup night of clam chowder, minestromi and split pea and ham soups.  The soups were delicious. 

Other activities:  The adult children all went out to see, “The Secret Life of Walter MItty” while we babysat.  We had an oriental dinner to celebrate Lisa’s birthday.  We went to the Hogle zoo  and had fun seeing the animals.  We went sleigh riding at Woodland Park.  We played racquetball and played numerous board games of Settlers of Kataan and a new one called Pandemic. 

It was sad to see everyone go. 

Jaimee Joy Baptism November 2013

Jaimee Joy was baptized this week!  It was wonderful to see how radiant and happy she was.  Her Grandmother Allen and Aunt gave talks and she was baptized and confirmed by Brian.  Afterwards we went to Brian and Mindi’s house for lunch.
