Sandy's French Mission Reunion

Friday night April 3, we went to Sandy’s French mission reunion.  I enjoyed hearing the missionaries sing a couple of French hymns.  Sandy enjoyed visiting with old missionaries.  I've included two pictures of her as a young missionary.

Matthew Ordination, March 2015

On Saturday morning we drove down to Cedar City to see Matthew get ordained.  We got to Cedar City Saturday afternoon.  We went on a hike up Kolob Canyon, which was beautiful.

Saturday night we had a lovely dinner of turkey burgers.  The next morning Matthew was ordained by Chris.   Matt/Kaelynn and Nate/Beth and family were there to witness.  It was great to see this.

Preston Birthday, March 2015

The following Friday Preston had his birthday party.  He had Apple Pie Squares rather than a birthday cake--unusual, but delicious!

Tara Blessing, March 2015

We had a great blessing of Tara Michelle!

Mike and Andrea came to our house Saturday March 21.  Mike and I went golfing and we played games at night with Mike/Andrea; Matt/Kaelynn.  Nicole and Tara were delightfully active, inquisitive and response.  Tara was blessed on March 22 at our Ward building.  Afterwards we had a lunch at the park with all the McEntires and Monsons.  Needless to say, there was quite a herd of people.  Everything went well.  (I don't know what happened to the pictures I took--these are from Andrea)

Disneyland March 2015

After visiting Tim, Sandy and I flew to Anaheim to be with Nate and Beth and family for Disneyland and beach.
We swam in the Motel pool, had great rides in Disneyland, and had fun at the beach.  I noted a few funny things the kids said:
1.   Spencer said that the hot sauce he ate with breakfast is burning a hole through his chest.
2.   Lauren was concerned about things eating us:
a.   She told me that she hopes that beavers will not eat us.
b.   She also prayed the morning before going to the beach that no sharks will eat us.
3.   Lauren also told me that “If it glows it goes”.
4.   One night I said to the kids, “Thanks for letting us be with you on this great day”.  Spencer said, “It wouldn’t have been any fun without us (meaning Spencer, Preston, Lauren and Camden).

Visit with Tim Lund, March 2015

After the cruise, we went to visit an old friend from New Jersey days, Tim and Ann Lund.  We spent hours talking about old times and catching up on family.  Tim sent me a few old photos:

Carribean Cruise with Larsons March 2015

Hi All,

We had a lovely cruise with Bert/Betty and Greg/Sue.  We sailed on the Norweigen Jewel leaving out of Houston, Texas’ Bayport Terminal.

The first and second days we traveled on the sea.  The food was excellent and we saw some fun shows with singing and dancing from the on-board staff.

The third day we arrived in Cozumel, Mexico.  Sandy and Craig went snorkeling and Greg/Sue, Bert/Betty went shopping.  We saw some very colorful fish.

The fourth day we arrived in Belize.  We went to see Mayan ruins—Lamoni, meaning submerged crocodile--in the jungle which were amazing.  We got to the ruins traveling through the jungle in a boat.  We saw crocodiles and colorful birds.  At Lamoni, we saw the “High Temple” and the “Jaguar Temple”.  The structures were very large and impressive that people back then engineered and built such buildings.  Wentworth was our guide and seemed fairly knowledgeable about the archealogical history of the site.  During the tour we saw a family of monkeys in the jungle.  We also made friends with a couple from Texas—Shane and April.  They are both in the military and we had interesting conversations about Afghanistan and Iraq, where he had served.   They seemed genuinely interested in building strong family relationships.

The fifth day we spent at a resort location in Rhoatan, Honduras.  This is a small island with some beautiful beaches.  Moody Jones, our guide, took us to a resort and we snorkeled for about four hours.  We saw a huge lobster and a scorpion fish (lion fish)  among other fish.
